PS Abubakar Hassan Convenes Workshop with BMO CEOs to Discuss BRAP-K Implementation

Principal Secretary for the State Department of Investment Promotion, Abubakar Hassan, hosted a workshop today with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) from select Business Membership Organizations (BMOs) to deliberate on the implementation roadmap for the Business Reform Action Plan for Kenya (BRAP-K), specifically focusing on reducing the cost of doing business in the country.

This workshop comes on the heels of the official inauguration of BRAP-K by Cabinet Secretary Hon. Rebecca Miano on January 26th, 2024. The workshop delved into the plan's delivery model and key thematic areas, including the taxation regime, energy, export-led growth, and financing. Additionally, special attention was given to the tea and horticultural value chains, finance, ICT, and other manufacturing sectors.

The participating committee agreed to prioritize both short, medium, and long-term interventions aimed at transitioning businesses from mere survival to a thriving state. This signifies a collaborative effort between the government and the private sector to foster a more conducive business environment in Kenya.
