Inaugural WCF Africa Summit

The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Investment Promotions, Mr. Abubakar Hassan Abubakar, today joined key stakeholders at the inaugural World Chambers Federation (WCF) Africa Summit held at the  Radisson Blu Hotel, Upper Hill, Nairobi. This historic event marked the first time the summit has been held on African soil.
Organized under the theme “Africa’s Global Future: Integrated, Innovative and Sustainable,” the high level forum was hosted by the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) in collaboration with the International Chambers of Commerce (ICC) and World Chambers Federation (WCF). It brought together key stakeholders from government, private sector and international organizations to deliberate on Africa’s evolving role in the global economic landscape.
 His Excellency President William Ruto was the chief guest. In his key note address, President William Ruto reiterated Kenya’s proactive efforts in attracting investment and championing sustainable development. “Kenya is open for business. We are intentionally designing our economic framework to attract investment that is sustainable, inclusive and transformative for generations to come,” he said. 
Opening remarks by KNCCI Chairperson Mr. Ben Ruto emphasized the importance of collaboration in unlocking Africa’s economic potential. “We must forge stronger public-private partnerships that will drive innovation, industrial growth, and inclusive economic transformation across the continent,” he said.
The International chamber of Commerce (ICC) Chairperson Mr. Philippe Varin urged African nations to align with global trade standards to increase competitiveness while Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s investment appeal through digitization, infrastructure upgrades and investor-friendly policies.
PS, Mr. Abubakar underscored Kenya’s strong commitment to advancing its investment promotion agenda and engaging meaningfully with global partners to attract sustainable and transformative investment, particularly into the country’s Special Economic Zones and emerging industries.
The WCF Africa Summit provides a timely platform for dialogue, networking and knowledge-sharing among industry players, policymakers and international delegates reinforcing Kenya’s position as a leading destination for investment and innovation on the continent.
